![]() This aggregation proved far more durable, lasting for eight years and six LPs, but it was clear more or less from the start that they played second fiddle to McGee’s work promoting the other bands on his label. Dick Green and Ken Popple, who were also members of his previous band, joined him in this new venture. Then, along with starting a club night called The Living Room that sought to put on a variety of acts that fused his main interests psychedelia and punk, he freshened up his own musical output with a new outfit named after The Creation classic Biff Bang Pow!. ![]() On arrival in London he had formed The Laughing Apple with pal and on-off musical partner Andrew Innes and they recorded a trio of singles in 19 before splitting up. So let us not go over that old ground yet again, but instead skip back a decade or so to the early 80s, when the label just making the journey from being of an idea in his head into a reality.
